Privacy Policy

This Privacy Notice for Footwork Labs, Inc. (doing business as Kickyo) ("Kickyo," "we," "us," or "our") describes how and why we collect, store, use, and share ("process") information when you use Kickyo, including when you visit https://kickyo.app, create an account, set up a player profile for your child, or contact us.

Kickyo is a soccer training service for families. A parent or legal guardian creates and owns the account, sets up a profile for each child, and the child trains under the parent's account. Children do not create their own accounts.

If you do not agree with this notice, please do not use Kickyo. Questions? Email support@kickyo.app.

Summary of key points

  • We collect what training needs: parent contact details, each child's name, date of birth, position, skill answers, training activity, and any video clips you choose to upload.
  • We never collect a child's email, phone number, or location.
  • We never sell your data, show ads, or share your data with advertisers, and we never use your child's clips to train AI models.
  • A parent owns the account and can review, edit, or delete any child's data at any time from Settings → Privacy.
  • We use a small number of trusted providers (payments, file storage, hosting, email) to run the service.

1. What information do we collect?

Information you provide

  • Parent account: name, email address, and password.
  • Child player profile (created by the parent): the child's first name, date of birth, soccer position, strong foot, current skill levels, training goal and preferences, an optional profile photo, and the weekly training plan you set.
  • Training activity: drills completed, sessions, streaks, XP, and progress generated as the child trains.
  • Video clips: any clips you choose to film and upload to a child's library, stored so you can compare progress over time. We do not run AI scoring or analysis on clips, and we never use them to train AI models.
  • Payment: when you subscribe, your payment is processed by Stripe. We receive your subscription and customer identifiers from Stripe but never see or store your full card number. See Stripe's notice at https://stripe.com/privacy.
  • Communications: if you email us, we keep your message and contact details to respond.

What we do not collect about children. We do not collect a child's email address, phone number, or location.

Information collected automatically

When you use Kickyo we collect basic technical and usage data needed to run and secure the service, such as IP address, browser and device type, and log data (for example, error reports and the date and time of activity). We do not use this for advertising.

2. How do we process your information?

We process information to:

  • create and manage the parent account and child profiles;
  • generate and deliver each child's training plan and track progress;
  • store the clips you upload so you can review progress;
  • process subscription payments and manage billing through Stripe;
  • send you service and account emails (for example, password resets, receipts, and training reminders) and, if you opt in, occasional product updates you can unsubscribe from at any time;
  • respond to your support requests;
  • keep Kickyo secure and prevent fraud and abuse;
  • comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell your information, show third-party advertising, or share your information with advertisers.

3. When and with whom do we share your information?

We share information only with service providers who help us run Kickyo, under contracts that require them to protect it and use it only for us:

  • Stripe — subscription payments and billing.
  • Amazon Web Services (Amazon S3) — secure storage of uploaded clips and files.
  • Railway — backend hosting. Vercel — website hosting.
  • Postmark — sending account and service emails.

We may also share information if required by law, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of company assets (we will continue to honor this notice or notify you of any change). We do not otherwise share your or your child's information.

4. Do we use cookies and tracking technologies?

We use only the cookies and similar technologies needed to sign you in, keep your session secure, and remember your settings. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

5. How long do we keep your information?

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete a child's profile or your account, we delete the associated personal information (including clips, sessions, and answers) from our active systems within 30 days, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal, tax, or accounting obligations or to resolve disputes.

6. How do we keep your information safe?

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your and your child's data.

7. Children's privacy (COPPA)

Kickyo is built for families and is designed around the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

  • Parent-owned accounts. Only a parent or legal guardian creates and owns a Kickyo account. The parent sets up a profile for each child. Children do not create their own accounts and do not have their own logins; a child trains under the parent's account.
  • Parental consent. When a parent adds a child, the parent confirms they are the child's parent or legal guardian and consents to Kickyo collecting and using the child's information to provide the training service.
  • What we collect about a child. A child's first name, date of birth, soccer position, strong foot, skill answers, training activity, and any clips the parent uploads. We never collect a child's email, phone number, or location.
  • How it is used. A child's information is used only to provide and personalize their training and to show the parent their progress. It is visible to the parent who owns the account. We never sell or share a child's data with advertisers and never use clips to train AI models.
  • Parental rights. A parent can review, edit, or delete a child's profile and data at any time from Settings → Privacy, or by emailing support@kickyo.app. We honor deletion requests within 30 days. A parent may also revoke consent at any time, which means deleting the child's profile.

Questions about a child's data: support@kickyo.app.

8. What are your privacy rights?

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to withdraw consent. You can exercise most of these directly from Settings → Privacy, or by emailing support@kickyo.app. You can unsubscribe from product emails using the link in any such email; we may still send essential account and service messages.

9. US state privacy rights

If you live in a US state with a comprehensive privacy law (such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Virginia, and others), you have the right to know, access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. To exercise your rights, email support@kickyo.app. If we decline, you may appeal by replying to our response.

10. International users

Kickyo is operated from the United States and our servers and providers are located in the United States. If you use Kickyo from outside the US, you understand your information will be processed in the US.
